DELIVERY ISSUES - when we cannot effect a delivery because the delivery address has perimeter security or building security

We are sometimes faced with a situation when e delivery cannot be made because of such things as a block of flats having security access only, or a property having security fencing and gates.

Here are 2 recent examples:
1.	We arrived at a property having locked security gates with no gate intercom facility to reach the house. As we had not been supplied with a delivery phone number there was no way to contact the delivery recipient to effect delivery.
2.	On trying to enter a block of flats which was protected by security access, the intercom did not reveal anyone was home and the recipient's phone answered with a message machine. Thus we were unable to access the building to leave the delivery at the unit door.
On both these occasions, the delivery had to be returned to home base to sort out further delivery arrangements.
We now have a policy to charge another delivery fee after these further arrangements are made. We hope you understand.
